*NOTE: To register horses, one must first send a check to the Registrar to purchase a registration kit for each horse.
The kit, which contains a microchip for implantation, a horse identifier form, instructions for photographing the horse, and instructions for pulling hair for DNA analysis will be mailed to you. When the photos are done, the chip is implanted, and the hair has been pulled return all materials to the Registrar. The society will send the hair sample off for DNA testing and the results will be mailed to you in 60 to 90 days. Do not attempt to send the hair off for DNA analysis yourself. Please keep all the registration materials for each horse together to prevent mixing up horses. Send all materials to the Registrar as a packet.
Sending information in piece-meal leads to errors in registration.
